How to install SanDisk Security (Mac)
SanDisk Security allows password protection and hardware encryption to be set to protect the drive from unauthorized use or access.

Getting Started with the SanDisk Security for Mac:

Important: The SanDisk Security software uses the set password to electronically lock and unlock the drive. If the password is forgotten, no new data will be writable on it, and data already in the drive will not be accessible. THE DRIVE WILL HAVE TO BE ERASED BEFORE IT CAN BE USED AGAIN.

About the SanDisk Security Software

The SanDisk Security™ software implements password protection and the 256-bit hardware data encryption capabilities of the supported SanDisk hard drive. Use the SanDisk Security software to:
  • Create a password to keep others from accessing the files on the drive
  • Change the password
  • Remove password protection
  • Unlock the drive on any computer -- whether the SanDisk Security software is installed there or not

Operating System Compatibility

The SanDisk Security software is compatible with the following Windows operating systems:
  • High Sierra
  • Sierra
  • El Capitan
  • Yosemite
  • Mavericks
  • Mountain Lion
    The SanDisk Security software does not support other manufacturers' hard drives or SanDisk hard drives that were not originally configured for the SanDisk Security software.

    Compatibility can vary, depending on hardware configuration and operating system. For the best performance and reliability, always install the latest updates and service pack (SP). Go to the Apple menu and select Software Update.

    Follow the steps outlined below to install SanDisk Security for Mac:

    1. You can install the software off of your drive directly or click the link to download the software from your drives support page.
    2. Click DOWNLOAD
    3. Select Save. Note: Save options may be different depending on the browser used
    4. Locate the file and open the sandisk-security-mac-1-0-0-13.dmg file
    5. Double Click to run the DMG file
    6. Double Click the Exec folder
    7. Double Click to run the SanDisk Security Installer
    8. Click Open to accept running a file downloaded from the Internet
    9. Read the EULA (End User License Agreement) and check the box to agree with the EULA to enable the Install button, then click Install
    10. Enter an administrative user password for the computer and click OK
    11. Click Finish when the installation is complete

    The SanDisk Security software has been installed and an icon to launch the program will be found in the Applications folder. Please follow the steps below to open the software using Finder
    1. Open Finder and select Aplications on the left panel
    2. Locate and double click on the SanDisk Security icon to open
    3. SanDisk Security should launch
